Get Your Walk On! It’s almost Walk-tober!
We are promoting walking, because it’s one of the perfect forms of exercise. WHY? For MANY reasons, including:
It’s easy on your joints.
- Almost everyone can do it.

- There is no need for equipment to participate.
- It benefits are not limited to physical health; walking can also contribute to boosting your overall well-being!
- You can do it anywhere!
When you walk, you remove yourself from your everyday stressors. It gives you a break from your usual routine. Taking a walk gives you an opportunity to just think, wind down after a long day, or spend some time with others. It can give you more energy than you had prior to starting your walk. And it can heighten your mood!
Our 6-Week Walking Challenge is going on right now! September 12 – October 24 ~ And, in order to help promote a healthy lifestyle and celebrate Walk-tober, we are inviting colleagues to please feel free to wear your sneakers this Friday (September 30th) and everyday throughout the month of October!

If you receive your payroll by direct deposit, you’ll notice a big change coming soon. Your direct deposit advices will be online and via electronic distribution! Be sure to log-in prior to 9/8/11 to set up your account. If you have any questions when trying to get set-up, please call Lisa Geiger at x7528 or Barb Richmond at x7562 (getting set up the week of 8/29 is preferable over the week of 9/5). Please have the instructions in front of you, and be at a computer when you call if possible.
You will receive a hard copy of your direct deposit slip on Friday 9/9 so you can compare your information to what you get electronically. The 9/9/11 pay date will be the last printed direct deposit advice. You must sign-up for online access to get future direct deposit payroll advices.
A document containing step-by-step information is available on the intranet. An email was also sent to your hospital email account.
If you are currently receiving a hard copy check but like the idea of receiving your paystub electronically, simply complete a direct deposit form and turn it into the Payroll office. Please note: you will receive a hard check the first pay after direct deposit sign up and any time you change your direct deposit information.
